Another in a series of painless upgrades from WordPress. Double thumbs up for WordPress.org. One big advantage of this version of WordPress is that now I can create and edit posts on my iPad. In the previous version of WordPress the insert media interface was too large for the iPad mini with the insert-image button off the bottom of the iPad screen so you could never insert the image. The new media insert interface handles mobile devices […]

Someone at our recent Weekly WordPress Support Group at TechLiminal in Oakland CA asked about how to create an image map to use as a navigation feature. There are websites that will do this for you and of course you can do this in applications like Dreamweaver and Photoshop. You can also do this pretty easily with a free plugin that extends the visual editor that comes standard with WordPress called Ultimate TinyMCE. Since I recommend and […]

I wanted to display a slide show that was hosted on Scribd.com (see Mary Meeker’s slides on theBrilliant analysis of current internet marketing trends post). There is a lot of good content on Scribd that you may want to share with your audience, and it should be one of your choices in addition to SlideShare and Google Docs for storing your content in the cloud. I noticed one of the options for embedding the Scribd slide […]
